Information relating to: Margaret Sedgman (formerly Margaret Cramer – nee McNamara):
Three of Margaret Sedgman’s children (Josephenna Theresa, John and Matilda Cramer) are ordered by the Court to the Industrial School in Royal Park (Also see eMelbourne). The order is for 5 years duration.
Margaret says she is “utterly destitute” and has been “deserted” by her husband (John Hall Sedgman). These claims are verified by Sergeant Kahey. A warrant is issued for Margaret’s husband’s arrest.
Margaret’s first husband, Henry Cramer had died of a gunshot wound to the head, 2 years earlier.
